Sermon Title:  The Sin of Self-Sufficiency

Sermon Text:  Revelation 3:14-22

     OT Reading:  Isaiah 55:1-2

Takeaway: There may be no virtue more admired than self-sufficiency. We want to boast that we need nothing. Keeping up a self-sufficient image, though, leaves us anxious and helpless. It prevents us from seeking and rejoicing in the grace of the gospel. The church in Laodicea believed they had no needs and, therefore, did not answer the door when Christ knocked. Where are you denying Christ by your desire to appear self-sufficient? What would it mean for you to be satisfied in Christ alone?
