The Price of Contentment
Preacher: Kevin Nelson Series: The Pastoral Epistles Scripture: 1 Timothy 6:6–21
Takeaway: We love money because we believe it will provide the things we need to be satisfied in this life. Our passage teaches that chasing contentment through material gain will ironically bring us great spiritual loss. The pursuit exposes our deep sense of need, but it is a need this world cannot fill. Only through the gospel will we find the wealth God has for us, which will bring contentment and produce generosity. Where do you most effortlessly and easily and joyfully spend your money? What does that reveal about your heart?
