A Design for Desire

Takeaway: This section of Song of Songs contrasts two images of sexual desire. One shows a couple using sex in service of their marriage; the other shows Solomon using women in service of sex. One depicts a husband and wife inviting each other into intimacy; the other depicts a king coercing his subject to fulfill his desire. The loving pursuit of this couple points us to the non-coercive love of Christ, to which every Christian is drawn. In what ways are you using others to feed your desire rather than using your desire to serve another? How can you stir up a love that will draw you to Christ?
