The Good Neighbor
Preacher: Kevin Nelson Series: Parables of Jesus Scripture: Luke 9:51–55, Luke 10:25–37
Takeaway: The Good Samaritan parable illustrates how we have a tendency is to shrink our obligations toward others. We have limited resources and so prioritize those who receive our help. Jesus, however, prioritizes helping us. He loves us despite not having obligations to do so. His divine compassionate love toward us empowers us to show loving compassion toward others. In what ways do you rationalize away the call to love others? How can the gospel give you the resources to love those who cannot love you in return?
