The Prostitute and the Bride

Takeaway: All the beautiful and pleasurable things this world has to offer have a way of seducing us to put our hope in this life. We need Revelation to unmask seduction to see it as the manipulation of a prostitute. She promises the life of affluence and sensuality at the cost of your faithfulness to Christ. Our passage cuts through the deception and anticipates God’s judgment of those who follow her. How is trusting in the world for life and security similar to prostitution? Are we in denial that God will judge these things?
