Wilderness Provisions, pt. 4: Eldership
Preacher: Cord Carlin Series: Exodus Scripture: Exodus 18:10–27
Takeaway: Should the Church be more structured or less structured? Should we even care how it's structured? Why or why not? As Moses led the people through the wilderness, he taught them God's commands and statutes. When the people had a dispute, they came to him. What he was doing was not good, though. Through Jethro, the Lord showed that his problem wasn't what he was doing, but the problem was how he was doing it. God provided a leadership structure through eldership for Israel - and this was a blessing to the leaders and the people. What is missing in your Christianity without the structure provided by eldership?
