Humanity in the Presence of God

Takeaway: During Advent, we focus on God's coming to humanity. This is often called Christ's Incarnation. If we were to ask people why the incarnation happened, we could probably get a good list of reasons. However, there is one thing that would almost certainly be left off everyone's list: the Incarnation occurred so Christ could ascend back to Heaven. Why did Jesus have to go? Where is he now, and what is he doing? His ascension isn't a lame conclusion (or a fanciful notion); the ascension of Christ completes our salvation. What is the Ascension's connection to Advent?
