The Lamb King

TAKEAWAY: How will the kingdom of God come? We all have our ideas of how it will come. Revelation, though, tells us it starts with our tears, mourning over our unworthiness. Not only can we not fix our own mess, but we are a major contributor to the problem. That grief, however, enables us finally to turn our expectations away from ourselves and toward another. Jesus does what we could not: he accomplishes God’s plan to fix our world through his sacrificial love. How should this vision reshape our understanding of God’s kingdom? How is the image of Jesus as Lion and Lamb a fitting description of God’s plan?
