A Declaration of Dependence

Takeaway: What is the good news that you are hoping for? Prosperity, good health, a solution to your problems: these are not bad things, but God’s good news is better. The news of the gospel is that God reigns. If God reigns then your enemies don’t, but, also, if God reigns then you don’t reign. In Isaiah 52, God wants us to realize the freedom we have from the bondage of sin and shame, yet, he calls us to use that freedom for a life of godliness. What causes you to doubt the goodness of this news? Are you trying to have Christ as Savior but not Lord?
