Christmas Reversals: What we need is not what we think

Takeaway: Deep in our hearts, we all long to be noticed, and we want recognition. The world tells us that the way up... is up. To get recognition, you need strength. The ‘strong thing’ you long for in order to attain recognition could be anything; it’s what gives you (or others) significance. In Mary’s Magnificat, we encounter a cosmic Christmas reversal: In Christ, God turns the world upside-down. Our need is not what we think, or what we’ve been told, it is. How do you seek recognition?
