Takeaway:  It is unsurprising that Paul calls the church to grow to spiritual maturity. What is surprising, however, is the means they are to use to grow. Rather than providing them a manual for growth or a list of commands to obey, Paul calls spiritually godly men and women to establish intentional relationships. They are to teach and model the gospel, giving of themselves to the growth of others. What would it look like for the Christian community to be so spiritually immature that others speak evil about it?
