Takeaway: Jacob the deceiver experiences the misery of being deceived. This is not Divine retribution or punishment for his sin. It is God’s gracious way to convict and reveal the ugliness of sin. It will humble Jacob and lead him to genuinely cry out to God. Why is it important for us to taste the misery of our sin? Why must the good news of grace come before the bad news of our sin?
