Corruption, Conformity, and Compassion

The dire warnings of this passage are not just toward Sodom (God will certainly judge the corrupt and oppressively wicked city), but, Lot’s divided heart between Sodom and God should be a warning to us as well. Lot shows us the power and peril of conforming to the culture. What should be the godly stance toward Sodom? Surprisingly, it is not detachment or condemnation, but compassionate warning and prayer. What does it look like today to warn of God’s judgment? When does compassion turn into complicity?
