The Purpose of Marriage

God gave marriage to help, but help with what? The mission of marriage is to build each other up in grace and godliness. God made marriage one of the most powerful human relationships so that we would care for another even as we care for ourselves. In this way, marriage not only reflects the gospel, but also the security and love found in the church. When does marriage seem more of a hindrance than a help? What makes marriage lose its purpose?
